The annual EPiC v BAGS match took place on Monday 20th April 2026 with BAGS taking the home advantage and choosing the magnificent Tyrrells Wood Golf course.
Bacon Rolls, coffee/tea and some great banter preceded the action.
12 members from the two rivals took to the course for a better-ball match play competition.
After some fierce competition EPiC secured a 4-to-2-point victory retaining the trophy for another year.
Captain, Chris Sunderland lead the way with Dan Hall winning 3&2 to open the score for the visitors. Iain Stevenson and Jarlath Rooney consolidated the lead with a resounding 8&7 win. Next up the BAGS fought back with an impressive win over Josh Rougan and Matt Caldecourt by 5 &4. EPiC restored a 2-point lead with a 2 up win from Gary Fairbairn and Will Evans, but again BAGS fought back winning the penultimate match over Dan Harrison and Joel Evans by 3&2.
The final pairing of Matt Jones and Neil Meixner brought home a 2&1 victory to secure the trophy for the 5th time in a row.
When the competition was over all enjoyed a lovely two-course dinner after which the trophy was graciously presented to EPiC Captain Chris Sunderland by BAGS acting Captain Tony Sweeney
