EPiC Palma Mallorca Tour 2026

Matt Caldecourt and the Vice Captain’s Team Triumph in the Sun

The EPiC Golfing Society’s 2026 overseas tour to Palma, Mallorca was a great success, bringing together 24 members for three excellent days of golf, competition and camaraderie across Son Vida, Son Muntaner and Son Gual and some very fine restaurants across Palma.

After a closely fought start to the tour, the Captain’s Team led 4–2 after the opening round at Son Vida. The Vice Captain’s Team responded strongly at Son Muntaner to level the contest at 6–6 after day two, setting up a decisive final round at Son Gual. On the last day, the Vice Captain’s Team produced the stronger finish, winning the session 7.5–4.5 and securing the overall match by 13.5 points to 10.5.

Vice Captain Steven Barkers’ victorious team: from LtoR Neil Meixner, Will Miles, Steven Barler,Geoff Green, Terry Dobbins, David Wannerton, Will Evans, Jason Wood, Mike Salmon, Neil Blundy and Ben Hurworth, nit forgetting Patrick Hanlon who had to retire hurt!!

The individual honours went to Matt Caldecourt, who claimed the Green Jacket with a commanding three-round total of 104 points after rounds of 32 at Son Vida, 40 at Son Muntaner and 32 at Son Gual. Garry Fairbairn and Josh Roughan both finished on 91 points, with Josh taking runner-up spot and Garry completing the podium. Neil Meixner followed in fourth on 87 points, while Terry Dobbins and David Wannerton shared fifth place on 86.

There were plenty of additional highlights along the way, with nearest-the-pin prizes going to Ken Adams and Josh Roughan at Son Vida, Neil Blundy and Joel Evans at Son Muntaner, and Neil Meixner and Will Miles at Son Gual. Nine-hole honours were shared around the field too, including strong performances from Terry Dobbins, Matt Caldecourt, Garry Fairbairn, David Wannerton and Captain Chris Sunderland.

More than anything, the tour once again captured what EPiC does best: competitive golf played in the right spirit, good company on and off the course, and memories made in a fantastic setting. Congratulations to the Vice Captain’s Team, to Green Jacket winner Matt Caldecourt, organisers and to everyone who contributed to another hugely enjoyable EPiC tour.
